hey, rebelhawk came up with the great idea of writing a sort of alternate COPL starting right after ROTJ:
Okay, fan fiction writers, get started! Here's your first line: "The dawn on Endor's moon was one of the loveliest Leia had ever seen."

A round robin sounds like fun. Here's a start:
The dawn on Endor's moon was one of the loveliest Leia had ever seen. The streams of sunlight peeking through the trees danced before her eyes, and she thought of the carefree days of her youth. Those days were gone, and their passing had left her with a deep sorrow for what she had lost. But this morning, this beautiful clear morning, her future seemed bright.
She was glad to have this moment to herself. Too soon, responsibility would call and she would have to get ready for the immense work ahead of her. Though the Rebellion had won this major war, there were still a lot of little battles ahead of them. Leia supposed that she would now spend less time at the battlefront, and more time helping set up the political organization that would be called The New Republic.
Diving into the political arena would surely make best use of her talents, but Leia had to admit that she had come to dread the thought of doing just that. She wished that she could, just for a few days at least, rid herself of her title and responsibility and run off with Luke and Han on some grand adventure. Leia worried that fate was soon going to pull the three of them in different directions… What would Luke do now? Where would he go? Politics had never been his forte, so she was sure that no matter what he decided to do, their time together was quickly drawing to an end. And what about Han? What would he do? <br> Leia frowned. The thought that Han might leave frightened her. He said he loved her, but how could a relationship last if both of them were working at different locations? He would never agree to a desk job, she was sure, and she had to be grounded to complete the tasks she needed to do.
I won’t think about this now, Leia thought. I will just enjoy this morning, and wait to see what the day reveals.

Hi...not really a writer, but I do love writing...is just anybody allowed to add to this? Well, I'm going to anyway! (I know it's old, but I just came across it and it looked like fun.) Well, here's my little addition...feel free to delete it or something if it shouldn't be there...
Just as Leia was about to pull her hastily thrown on robe a little tighter, two arms came around her, lips brushed the nape of her neck, and a voice she would recognize anywhere greeting her, "Morning, beautiful."
Leia turned her head so that her lips met Han's. After a moment, their lips broke apart, but neither moved to break their embrace. Han's arms stayed wrapped comfortingly around Leia's petite figure, both savoring each other's presence and the pristine beauty of the sunrise.
It seemed only moments later that the sun was completely up and washing over Endor with it's rejuvenating rays.
"What's on the agenda for today?" asked Han, hoping Leia would say she didn't know so that he could ask her if she wanted to come with him to another Ewok village a few miles away (according to one of the leaders in this village, anyway). He and Chewie needed a certain tool that was a little more advanced than anything the Ewoks had yet produced, and supposedly the next village over had in its possession an old wreck of a ship from a few years ago. Han had already planned a pleasant speeder-bike ride over there with Leia. He figured it was perfect for them: they could enjoy the day while still having at least the pretense that they were doing something useful to satisfy Leia's drive to be always doing something constructive. Unfortunately, her reply was not in his favor.
Leia grimaced, "Well, Mon Mothma has called a meeting so that we can try to make a start on deciding where to go from here..." she said doubtfully. Han held his breath. There was still a chance...
"And we really should be there, General," finished Leia, trying to poke some levity into the situation but still dashing all of Han's hopes.
"Of course," he said, trying not to sound too disappointed, "Does this require uniform?"
"Oh, nothing too fancy, I suppose. It's just a meeting of the people Mon Mothma trusts most," Leia said, turning to put her arms around him and prolong their time together for just a moment more.
"I guess that's something, anyway," Han sighed, absently stroking Leia's hair, not yet put up for the day.
