Carrie and Peter Mayhew have shown up at SW Weekends in the past; with any luck, they'll show up at this one if it isn't canceled.

According to my friend who went, she was clearly suffering an anxiety attack and the fans were acting bitchy about it instead of sympathetic. Some people claimed that various actors were "not enthusiastic," but look at it from their perspective. They're signing autographs for hours (and most of the people asking for them are just going to sell the stuff on eBay anyway) and the fans are treating them like they're robots instead of human beings.

yes, i suppose thats true too. I'm just reporting what I heard. I actually had a great experience with the autographs. phil brown and mike quinn (nien nunb) were there when I went. quinn was 110% friendly, chatting up a storm with everyone. i felt so bad for phil brown, he looked exhausted but he still stayed way past his allotted time. he started joking around with me, saying the picture i handed him wasn't very flattering.

Hey, let's just all be glad that at least one of the OT trio still shows up occasionally to these conventions and signings.
Mark has been a no-show for years and Harrison? Not a one. 8)

dont worry bout it, shelley.
yes, thats very true, rebelhawk. i see mark as the only one thats fully embraced his SW fame (maybe cuz theres no other fame for him??). I'm actually surprised he hasnt shown up. I dont really hold it against him, tho.

Something I've been thinking about: Which PT actor do you think will be the most "receptive" to doing conventions?

Probably Jake Lloyd. He's shown up at SW Weekends and also attended Celebration I.

True, Jake was at the first Star Wars Celebration, wasn't he? Cute little kid. I can see Hayden going but not Natalie P. or Ewan M. Sam Jackson would probably go if he didn't have five films a year to do every year!

The N Sync cameo is more evidence that Lucas has lost it and sold out to the marketing crowd instead of concentrating on making a good movie. Sigh.

i hear ya silver. its depressing. specially when we all know lucas is fully capable of making a classic movie w/o all the unnecessary crap.

Silver, if you watched the George Lucas Biography, you would have realized that it is impossible for Lucas to sell out to anyone.
There was a piece on TF.N that stated that Lucas had nothing to do with N'Sync one way or the other. Rick McCallum offered them a cameo and it is still undecided whether they will be in the film.
Besides, if you are a SW fan like me, the last thing you will be looking for is N'Sync boys. ;D

Amen, RebelHawk!
Even if the N'Sync cameo is in the movie, which it may not be, by all accounts you'd have to really, really be looking for it to see it. No offense, silver and Toryn, but I really think you're getting upset over something very minor. I hope you can just enjoy AOTC when it comes out, and not go into the theater all angry and resentful about a minuscule, non-speaking cameo by an inconsequential boy band that may not even be in the movie.
And as RebelHawk said, the N'Sync cameo wasn't even Lucas' idea; that stuff about him putting in the cameo to please his daughters is flat-out false. It was Rick McCallum's idea, so if you want to accuse anyone of "selling out," it'd be him--although personally I think he was just doing a nice favor for some bigtime SW fans.
What "unnecessary crap" does Lucas put into his movies nowadays?
